Origin: A borrowing from French. Etymon: French nasé.
Etymology: < Anglo-Norman nasé (attested only in corrupt form naes ), lit. ‘having a (big) nose’, in ironic use in sense ‘noseless; having a mutilated nose’ < post-classical Latin nasatus , in the same sense, used of the same person, Statin, king of Cyprus (a1406 in a British source) < classical Latin nāsus nose (see nase n.) + -ātus -ate suffix2.
Obsolete. rare.
