Etymology: < neutro- comb. form + -penia comb. form, after German Neutropenie (V. Schilling Blutbild (1912) 62). Compare earlier leucopenia n. at leuco- comb. form 1.
Medicine.
Reduction in the number of neutrophils in the blood; neutrophilic leucopenia; an instance of this.
