Origin: A borrowing from Latin, combined with an English element. Etymons: Latin novus, English international auxiliary language.
Etymology: < classical Latin novus new adj. + the initial letters of international auxiliary language (see quot. 19281 at main sense).
An artificial language created by Otto Jespersen in 1928 for use as an international auxiliary language.
