Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin occupabilis.
Etymology: < post-classical Latin occupabilis (1625 in the passage translated in quot. 1853) < classical Latin occupāre occupy v. + -bilis -ble suffix. Compare French occupable (1890; earlier in Middle French in an isolated attestation (c1508)). Compare earlier occupiable adj.
Now rare.
