1. A piece cut off, esp. in making or shaping something else.Offcut is used in various occupations and contexts to denote a cut-off or leftover piece, as e.g. one of the pieces cut off in shaping a block of stone, an odd or waste piece of timber left after sawing, a piece of paper cut off in reducing a sheet to the required size, a section edited from a film, etc.
