(1904) gives the pronunciation as (ǫksi·trikəin) /ɒkˈsɪtrɪkaɪn/. Zoology. Obsolete. rare. Apparently only attested in dictionaries or glossaries. A. adj.1890 Oxytrichine,..of or pertaining to the Oxytrichidæ. B. n.1890 Oxytrichine, any animalcule of the family Oxytrichidæ.
