释义 | acaran. Any of several deep-bodied, freshwater cichlid fishes native to Central and South America, with elongated dorsal and anal fins; esp. one now in the genus Aequidens or Cichlasoma. Also (in form Acara): the former genus including many of these fishes (now disused). Valid publication of the (former) genus name: E. Haeckel (1840) in Ann. des Wiener Mus. der Naturgeschichte 2 338. ΚΠ 1830 S. Maunder Treasury of Knowl. Acara, a Brazil fresh-water fish. 1869 L.
