Etymology: < pharma- (in e.g. pharmaceutical adj., pharmaceutical n.), perhaps after similar use in German and French; compare German Pharma (1932 or earlier in a journal title, 1966 or earlier in a compound noun), French pharma (1953 or earlier in a journal title).
