单词 pig-herd
释义

pig-herdn.

Brit. /ˈpɪɡhəːd/, U.S. /ˈpɪɡˌ(h)ərd/
Forms: see pig n.1 and herd n.2; also 1600s–1700s piggard.
Origin: Formed within English, by compounding. Etymons: pig n.1, herd n.2
Etymology: < pig n.1 + herd n.2 N.E.D.(1906) notes that, while the form piggard (in e.g. quot. a1697) probably belongs here, it may perhaps represent an apparently otherwise unattested form *pigward (compare ward n.1).
A person who tends pigs.
