Origin: From a proper name, combined with an English element; perhaps modelled on a French lexical item. Etymons: proper name Picasso , -ian suffix.
Etymology: < Picass- (in the name of Picasso: see Picassoesque adj.) + -ian suffix, perhaps after French Picassien (1939 or earlier). Compare slightly earlier Picassoesque adj.
Of, relating to, or characteristic of Picasso; suggestive of Picasso's style of painting, esp. through the simplification of forms or the use of abstract geometric shapes. Cf. Picassoesque adj.
