单词 polydispersity
释义

polydispersityn.

Brit. /ˌpɒlɪdᵻˈspəːsᵻti/, U.S. /ˌpɑlidəˈspərsədi/
Origin: Formed within English, by derivation; perhaps modelled on a Dutch lexical item. Etymons: polydisperse adj., -ity suffix.
Etymology: < polydisperse adj. + -ity suffix, perhaps after Dutch polydispersiteit (see note). Compare German Polydispersität (1946 or earlier).Dutch polydispersiteit is apparently only attested later than the current word (1943 or earlier). However, it is possible that the Dutch word appears in the (unpublished manuscript) source of the passage translated in quot. 1927, but this cannot be verified.
