Origin: Apparently a variant or alteration of another lexical item; probably modelled on an Italian lexical item. Etymons: accollé adj., accolled adj.
Etymology: Apparently an alteration of either accollé adj. or accolled adj. after words in -ated suffix, probably after Italian accollato (mid 19th cent. or earlier in similar use). Compare also (in different sense) accoladed adj.
Chiefly Numismatics. Now rare.
= accolled adj. 3.
