Compare earlier ysibbe adj.In Middle English sometimes difficult to distinguish from a prepositional phrase with by prep. and perhaps occasionally reanalysed as such; compare of sib at sib n.2 3. (Word division in Old English and Middle English examples often reflects the editorial choices of modern editors of texts, rather than the practice of the manuscripts.)
