Origin: Formed within English, by compounding; perhaps modelled on a Dutch lexical item, or perhaps modelled on a German lexical item. Etymons: reproduction n., photography n.
Etymology: < repro- (in reproduction n.) + -graphy (in photography n.), probably after either Dutch reprographie (1953 or earlier) or German Reprographie (c1954 or earlier). Compare earlier reprographic adj.
The technique or practice of copying and reproducing documents or graphic material in facsimile form by means other than conventional printing (e.g. photocopying, microfilm, or by digitalization).
