Compare post-classical Latin resummonere to summon again (frequently from 1195 in British sources), Anglo-Norman and Old French resomondre , Old French, Middle French resemondre (in Anglo-Norman also, with change of conjugation, resomener , resumuner ) to exhort again (1212 or earlier), to summon to return, to call back (c1260), to send a second summons to (c1260 or earlier) . Compare earlier resummons n.
