单词 richardine
释义

richardinen.

Forms:

α. late Middle English ricardoun, late Middle English–1500s ricardon.

β. 1600s richardine.

Origin: Apparently a borrowing from French, combined with an English element. Etymons: French richard , -oon suffix.
Etymology: Apparently < Middle French richard, richart, ricart (see Richard n.) + -oon suffix. In β. forms apparently remodelled after -ine suffix4. However, considerably earlier currency (perhaps in one of the vernacular languages as well as in Latin) is shown by post-classical Latin ricardinus (c1230 in a British source).
Obsolete.
1. Apparently: a kind of mug. rare.
