Origin: A borrowing from Scottish Gaelic, combined with an English element; modelled on a Scottish Gaelic lexical item. Etymons: Scottish Gaelic rùsg , -y suffix6.
Etymology: < Scottish Gaelic rùsg bark (cognate with Irish rúsc ; Early Irish rúsc : see ruche n.) + -y suffix6, after Scottish Gaelic rùsgan kind of basket, especially one for measuring seed corn (see ruskin n.2).
