单词 | sanctification |
释义 | sanctificationn. 1. a. Theology. The action of the Holy Spirit in sanctifying or making holy the believer, by the implanting within him of the Christian graces and the destruction of sinful affections. Also, the condition or process of being so sanctified.By the majority of theologians sanctification is regarded as a gradual process, not (at least normally) completed in this life. The doctrine of entire sanctification or perfect sanctification (or of Christian perfection: see perfection n.) is the view, held by some Protestants, that the condition of freedom from sin (though not from ignorance or infirmities) is attainable in the present life.
