Origin: Apparently a borrowing from Dutch. Etymon: Dutch schoon.
Etymology: Apparently < Dutch schoon (adjective) beautiful, (adverb) beautifully (see sheen adj.), perhaps with alteration by association with shone, past participle of shine v.Apparently only used by Anthony Copley (who lived in Flanders from 1585 to 1590).
Obsolete. rare.
Brightly, radiantly, brilliantly. Also as adj.: brilliant, radiant.Apparently only in the works of Anthony Copley.From or influenced by Dutch use: see the etymology.
