Origin: Formed within English, by compounding. Etymons: sky n.1, gazer n.
Etymology: < sky n.1 + gazer n.In sense 2 after scientific Latin Uranoscopus uranoscopus n.; compare earlier uranoscopus n. and heaven-gazer n. 2. With senses 2, 3, and 4 compare earlier stargazer n.
