A waltz danced in 3/4 time; a piece of music composed for such a waltz. Cf. Viennese waltz n.In competitive ballroom dancing the slow waltz (now referred to as the waltz) is one of the five International Standard dances, alongside the tango, slow foxtrot, quickstep, and Viennese waltz.
