Etymology: < classical Latin acersecomēs long-haired youth (Juvenal; < ancient Greek ἀκερσεκόμης with unshorn hair < ἀ- a- prefix6 + κείρειν to cut short, shear (see corm n.2) + κόμη hair: see comous adj.) + -ic suffix.The Latin and Greek words are used of youth, as Greek youths wore long hair until they reached manhood.
Obsolete. rare. Apparently only attested in dictionaries or glossaries.
A person whose hair has never been cut.
