1864 Guardian 10 Feb. 145/1 It looks like an ordinary novelette; but if the exact reader takes stock of its contents, he will find an Oriental tale of considerable length, a tragi-comedietta in one act, and a drama in the Elizabethan style of the full five-act proportions.
1892 Pall Mall Gaz. 12 May 3/1 Tragedy is a name not to be taken in vain, least of all by a poet of Mr. Swinburne's calibre. Tragi-comedietta would have come nearer the mark.
