Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: un- prefix1, redd adj.
Etymology: < un- prefix1 + redd adj. Compare later unrid adj.1 Sc. National Dict. (at unrid) records the word as still in use in the specific sense ‘(of rope, wool, etc.) tangled, in knots’ in north-eastern Scotland in 1973.
