Acute or penetrating in intellect or perception. Of reasoning or discourse: acute, sagacious. Also, of remarks: pointed, apt, witty.

Of a remark, observation, etc.: quick-witted, clever, pithy; striking, memorable; pointed, piercing. Cf. zinger, n. 2b.
