Hemp-Hackling Machine

a machine for separating the long fibers from scutched hemp stock. It operates together with a scutching and tow-cleaning machine at primary processing sites. The hemp-hackling machine produced in the USSR has a gripping conveyer with two specially shaped belts, two scutching drums, a countershaft, and a transmission mechanism. The gripping conveyer feeds the hemp stock, which has been processed in the breaker, into the scutching zone, where the beaters of the scutching drums separate the fiber from the stock. The fiber, which is carried out by conveyer, is removed from the machine manually by a worker. The machine produces up to 250 kg of fiber per hour.
