Gubakha
Gubakha
a city in Perm’ Oblast, RSFSR, on the Kos’va River, a tributary of the Kama. Railroad station 30 km south of the city of Kizel. Population, 33,000 (1970). One of the coal mining centers of the Kizel coal basin, Gubakha has a coke-producing plant, chemical and biochemical plants, and a factory manufacturing mechanical and electric toys. It is also the location of the Kizel State Regional Power Plant, which operates on the wastes resulting from the beneficiation of coal. There is also a medical school in the city. Gubakha arose at the end of the 18th century; it became a city in 1941.
