Iavan

an urban-type settlement and administrative center of lavan Raion, Kurgan-Tiube Oblast, Tadzhik SSR. lavan is situated on the Iavansu River (Vaksh River basin), 59 km southeast of Dushanbe. A thermal electric power plant is located in the settlement, and construction on an electrochemical plant was begun in 1978.
