Hasan Ogly, Izzaldin

 

Dates of birth and death unknown. An Azerbaijani poet of the late 13th and early 14th centuries. Wrote in both the Azerbaijani and Persian languages.

Hasan Ogly was a pupil of the Sufi sheikh Jamal al-din Ahmad Zakir. Love is the principal theme of Hasan Ogly’s poetry. His lyrics have served as a model for many generations of Turkic-language poets.
