Heaviside-Lorentz system

Heaviside-Lorentz system

[′hev·ē‚sīd lȯ′rents ‚sis·təm] (electromagnetism) A system of electrical units which is the same as the Gaussian system except that the units of charge and current are smaller by a factor of 1/√(4π), and those of electric and magnetic field are larger by a factor by √(4π). Also known as Lorentz-Heaviside system.
