Imishli

 

a city (settlement until 1960), the administrative center of Imishli Raion, Azerbaijan SSR. Imishli is situated in the Mil’ Plain, on the left bank of the Araks River (tributary of the Kura). It has a railway station on the Aliat-Dzhul’fa line. Population, 18,000 (1970). Enterprises producing railroad equipment, a butter and cheese plant, a reinforced-concrete products factory, a brickyard, and an asphalt factory are located in Imishli, as is the Mugan Hydroelectric Power Plant.
