(2) In Wyoming and Utah, a right tributary of the Colorado River. Length, 1,180 km; area of basin, 116,500 sq km. The source of the Green River is in the western part of the Wind River Range. Most of the river flows through steep mountain gorges, but in places the valley widens. Highwater is in the spring and summer. The average rate of discharge in the lower reaches near the city of Green River is about 200 cu m per sec. The greatest rate of discharge is about 2,000 and the least about 10 cu m per sec.
