Established: 1946.
Location:Along Lake Texoma, northwest of Sherman, Texas, near the Texas-Oklahoma border.
Facilities:Visitor center, viewing sites, picnic area, auto tour route (4 miles), trails, historical features.
Activities:Boating, canoeing, fishing, hiking, hunting.
Special Features:In the early 1900s, the refuge was the location of Hagerman Townsite, population 250. It was abandoned in 1943 tomake way for Lake Texoma.
Habitats: 11,320 acres of lakeshore, ponds, and upland prairies.
Access: Open during daylight hours.
Wild life: Canada geese, snow geese, white-fronted geese, ducks, squirrel, rabbit, deer.
