a historical work containing a description of the events of 1584–1655. It was probably written circa 1658 at the patriarchate in Moscow and was based on the New Chronicle official records, and ecclesiastical and theological writings. It contains information about the 1630’s through 1650’s not found in other sources and devotes much attention to such church matters as the corrections of church texts introduced by Patriarch Nikon. The chronicle has an overall religious and ecclesiastical orientation. It is known from manuscript copies published by N. I. Novikov in 1771.
