释义 | Heinz, HowardHeinz, Howard(1877–1941) business executive, philanthropist; born in Pittsburgh, Pa. (son of Henry John Heinz). He entered his father's food company in 1900 and became president in 1919. His leadership of H. J. Heinz Company produced excellent advertising and large numbers of traveling salesmen. He directed food relief in southeastern Europe and Turkey after World War I, and among other philanthropies he endowed the Howard Heinz Students' International Fund at Yale University. |
