Hamburg, David Alan Hamburg, David Alan(1925– ) psychiatrist, educator; born in Evansville, Ind. He was professor and chairman of the department of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Stanford (1961–72) and a member of many policy advisory boards. He conducted research in the areas of psychological stress and endocrine function; adaptive behavior under stress; psychotherapy in crisis; and the genetic basis of behavior. |
