internal hard drive

The primary internal storage in personal computers is a hard drive, although solid state drives (SSDs) are increasingly used. Using magnetic disk technology, an internal hard drive resides inside the computer case. Almost all internal hard drives use the SATA interface. See SATA, SSD, internal drive and magnetic disk.
