Kamberi

 

(also Kambari, Kambali, Kamberawa, Ewadi, or Yauri), a people living in Nigeria, between the Kaduna and Niger rivers, east of the city of Busa. The Kamberi are related to the Duka, Dakakari, and Kamuku peoples. The population of the Kamberi proper is approximately 150, 000 (1970, estimate). Their language is related to the Eastern Bantoid languages. Most of the Kamberi profess Islam. Their chief occupation is farming (corn and sorghum); livestock raising and fishing are also well developed.
