Special Features:The park was first created to host the 1890 World's ColumbianExposition. Today, one of the most notable buildings from that historicWorld's Fair--the Fine Arts Palace--is the homeof Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry. Other features in the parkinclude abeach house with an interactive play fountain (at 63rd St.) and WoodedIsland, which contains a nature sanctuary and Japanese garden.Immediately north of the park is famous Promontory Point, and to thesouth is the South Shore Cultural Center.
