Location:Along the lower reaches of the Souris River in north-central North Dakota.
Facilities:Visitor contact station, viewing sites, trails, auto tour route, canoe trail.
Activities:Canoeing, fishing, hunting, educational programs.
Special Features:An important feeding and resting area on the Central Flyway, the refuge has developed into one of the most important duck production areas in the United States.
Habitats: 58,700 acres of freshwater marshland.
Access: Open daily, 5am - 10pm.
Wild life: Waterfowl, including Canada geese, gadwall, blue-winged teal, and mallard. Also provides habitat for butterflies, beaver, mink, raccoon, deer, and porcupine.
