Nizhnii Baskunchak

an urban-type settlement in Vladimirovka Raion, Astrakhan Oblast, RSFSR, located on the western shore of Lake Baskunchak. A 12-km spur connects it with the Astrakhan-Saratov railroad line. Common salt and gypsum are produced locally.
