Kieniewicz, Hieronim Władysław
Born Sept. 6, 1834, in Metz, France; died June 6 (18), 1864, in Kazan. Polish revolutionary. Son of a Polish émigré.
In 1857, Kieniewicz began work as an engineer on railroad construction in Russia. On the eve of and during the Polish Uprising of 1863–64, he was closely linked to Polish revolutionaries and Russian revolutionary circles in Moscow and was one of the organizers of the Kazan Conspiracy of 1863 in the Volga region. He was condemned to death by a military court and shot.
