Malyi Balkhan
a low-mountain rise between the western end of the Kopetdag and the Bol’shoi Balkhan Range. It is an anticline extending from east-northeast to west-southwest. Elevation, up to 777 m; length, approximately 30 km. It is composed of limestones and marls. Karst relief and forms of underground erosion (clay karst) are typical of the strongly dissected marl and gypsiferous foothills. On the slopes are wormwood and worm-wood-saltwort deserts.
