[TA] of three hepatic segments that constitute the left (part of) liver, the one that lies to the left of the superior portion of the falciform ligament and the fissure for the ligamentum venosum; typically, it lies superior to the stomach and is supplied by the upper lateral branch from the umbilical part of the left branch of the hepatic portal vein.
