Kiurdamir

a city (settlement until 1938), the administrative center of Kiurdamir Raion, Azerbaijan SSR, located in the Kura-Araks Lowland. A railroad station on the Baku-Tbilisi line, 203 km west of Baku. Population, 13,800 (1972). Kiurdamir is one of the republic’s grape-growing and wine-making centers. It has wineries and an asphalt plant.
