(myū'lĕr hin'tŏn mē'dē-ŭm) The standard agar-based medium for antibacterial susceptibility tests for the most common aerobic and facultatively anaerobic bacteria. Nutritional supplements are added for fastidious organisms. The pH cation content and depth of the agar must be properly controlled because these factors affect the accuracy of the test results.
