Korocha

a city, center of Korocha Raion, Belgorod Oblast, RSFSR, on the right bank of the Korocha River (Severskii Donets Basin), 45 km southeast of the Prokhorovka station on the Kursk-Belgorod railroad line and 57 km northeast of Belgorod. Korocha has a cannery, a brickyard, a veterinary sanitary-utilities plant, and a sovkhoz technicum. The surrounding region is known for its fruit orchards. Korocha was founded in 1638.
