a balneological and pelotherapeutic resort in Suvorov Raion, Tula Oblast, RSFSR, situated 107 km west of Tula, on the high left bank of the Cherepet’ River.

The resort has warm summers, with an average July temperature of 18°C, and moderately mild winters, with an average January temperature of — 10°C. Precipitation is about 550 mm a year. The therapeutic agents include sulfate, calcium, and sulfate calcium-magnesium waters, which come to the surface near the bank of the river and are used for baths and for drinking, as well as peat, which is found in the floodplain of the Cherepet’ River. Krainka provides treatment for diseases of the motor-support organs, diseases of the digestive and nervous systems, and gynecological diseases. It has a sanatorium, a water and mud clinic, and an air solarium.
