Kuala Trengganu

 

a city and port in West Malaysia, on the east coast of the Malay Peninsula, at the mouth of the Trengganu River. It is the capital of the state (sultanate) of Trengganu. Population, 53,400 (1970). There is a railroad station. Traditionally, the city has been a center for the production of batik fabrics.
