Narva-Jõesuu
(Ust’-Narva), an urban-type settlement in the Estonian SSR, under the jurisdiction of the Narva city soviet. Located where the Narva River flows into Narva Bay, 14 km northwest of Narva. Population, 3,600 (1974). Narva-Jõesuu is a seaside climatic resort. Summers are moderately warm, with an average July temperature of 17°C; winters are mild, with an average January temperature of —7°C. Annual precipitation, 680 mm. A beach of fine sand extends for 10 km. A sanatorium, houses of rest, and boarding houses are located there. Commercial fishing is also carried on.
